Watch This: Game of Thrones’ Melisandre Goes to a Baby Shower

In a hilarious new Late Night with Seth Meyers video, Seth decides to invite Game of Thrones’ Melisandre (Carice van Houten), also known as the red woman or priestess of the Lord of Light, to his baby shower. You’d think he’d have learned his lesson when he invited Jon Snow to a dinner party in his last video, but you gotta give him points for giving them the benefit of the doubt.

The baby shower is dark and full of terrors

Since Melisandre is a mother herself to a bouncing baby shadow of death, we can see where the logic came from. As she’s asked to give advice to the new mother, she tells her: “Clutch your child close to your breast woman, for the night is dark and full of terrors.” Technically, she’s not wrong.

Seth later pulls her aside and tells her “you’re always wondering why you don’t have any female friends, and this is why!” That could be it, or it could be because of all the husband seducing she’s been doing -take your pick. But you gotta give it to a girl for going out there to try and make some friends. Being a priestess of the Lord of Light can’t be a 24/7 job, can it?

Unfortunately, she doesn’t make any friends at the shower, but – Spoiler! – she does light one of the women on fire.

She mentions being attracted to someone at work, who ends up being Jon Snow. Even though the video’s a joke – it’s fun to speculate on the Melisandre/Jon Snow connection. Will she resurrect him so they can have a bunch of shadow wolf babies together? Man, we sure hope so.
