Game of Thrones May Become a Feature Film

George R.R. Martin reportedly told The Daily Star Sunday last week that once HBO finishes filming the series, it won’t be the end. At an HBO Emmy afterparty, Martin told press that there would be a big screen film finale, but that he wouldn’t be involved. He’s much too busy finishing the remaining books, which are in danger of falling behind the quickly moving narrative of the show.

“The pressure is on. I am such a slow writer and the fans get upset that I don’t write faster,” says Martin.

Charles Dance (Tywin Lannister) also said in an interview several months ago: “There’s talk of eventually trying to do a feature film, but I don’t know which of the storylines. There’s so much to cram into a film.”

The film may delve into characters or past storylines from the books that weren’t fully explored on the show. Which storyline would you most like to see in the Game of Thrones movie?
